Our Authors

Currently Red Raven Press is setting up its foundation as an indie, micro-press. Our first project is a poetry collection, 20 years in the making, by our very own founder, Valerie. Stay tuned for a release date and information on purchasing. As we grow, more works will fill this page.

Our Authors: Valerie Paige

About Valerie Paige

Valerie is a small town, preacher’s daughter with strong convictions and a unique personality that seeks to find and share her truths. She comes from a long line of writers, literature enthusiasts, educators, and musicians. She is a woman who wears many hats and desires to represent the “every woman” in her confessional poetry. She is also an advocate for social justice believing kindness and love CAN change the world, one conversation at a time. Through her experiences, trauma, and joys, she has found solace and acceptance in a pen and paper. Writing has always been a fortress of discovery and healing for her, especially in times of struggle.

She is a community college English professor and enjoys reading, writing, singing, talking about the deep questions of life, and spending time with her family.

Identity Theft: A Poetry Collection (Coming Soon)

Identity Theft is a collection of poetry that has been in the works for 20 years. Harnessing an in-depth vantage point of a woman’s evolving identity, the poems convey what it means to be the “every woman” while also exposing raw truths about the struggles of young marriage, infertility, divorce, trauma, chronic illness, mental health, and spirituality. Through its confessional tone and unapologetic lyrics, Identity Theft encapsulates the notion that women occupy many spaces, and through our collective experiences, we can redefine who we are.

Future Work

Though Valerie is only about to publish her first poetry collection, she has many other plans in the works including a children's book based on her poem, "All Ways and Always" written for her two girls and a second poetry collection centered on social justice and her view of the world.
